Nic Davies, The Squash Company founder, is an England Squash & Racketball Qualified Coach. He is currently the Head Coach at Lewes Squash Club, England, Development Officer for Sussex Squash & Racketball & leading the Sussex Squash Coach Academy.
Nic has worked with players of all standards and ages so far in his career. Most recently, he has steered Lewes Juniors I to Division 1 in the Sussex Junior Leagues where they finished 3rd and 2nd in their first seasons in the division, an all time high for the club. Individually he has coached four players who have represented Sussex at the Inter-Counties National Finals, a county champion and county finalists, as well as several other members of the County and County Feeder Squads.
He has also helped Lewes achieve England Squash & Racketball Silver Award Status. As a result of his achievements, he was awarded the Marija Portman Award by the Southdown Sports Club for Outstanding Achievement in May 2014.
He also regularly helps with the Skilam Elite Squad in Sussex at the K2 in Crawley. This squad includes two British National Champions and several more highly ranked national players. He also coaches the University of Sussex Squash Team and has previously served as Head Coach at Brighton Squash Club, where he created a new, flourishing junior set-up after a long hiatus before leaving to work on other projects, including developing The Squash Company.
As a player he was the Captain and President of the University of Sussex Squash Club, where he played as 1st string in the BUCS Leagues and in the Sussex County Premier Division. As a result of his success in squash, the University awarded him a Sussex Sportsman of the Year Award in 2012.
After four seasons with the University of Sussex, he switched his playing allegiance to Lewes Squash Club and the team went unbeaten in the next season to earn promotion. Nic Davies also represents Horley I in the Surrey Cup.
